Description
During midday when the desert heat is at its hottest, any bit of shade can act like an oasis and the animals here treat shade with as much importance as their need for food and water.
A mother protoceratops and her young (left) have stumbled upon a fallen dead tree. However to their disappointment, the tree’s shade has already been claimed by a monogamous pair of saurornithoides (bottom right). Both species weigh their options on what to do next.
A gobipteryx (top right) would prefer to not have so many neighbors around his home tree.
